Regrets, we have one more.  Fiona Apple came to the Santa Barbara Bowl last week and, according to all accounts, gave one of the better performances of the year.  Unfortunately, we missed Apple and the opening set by wunderkind Blake Mills, who has an incredibly bright future and who we recently interviewed.   Apple’s been finishing her shows by covering Conway Twitty’s song It’s Only Make Believe.  Check out Fiona torching the song as if the love-child of Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf and Janis Joplin at the Greek Theater two nights after Santa Barbara.  And keep your ears and eyes out for Blake Mills’ Fiona-miming, impressionistic solo beginning at 2:15 while Fiona FEELS it.  Too good.  Afterwards check out a couple of other vignettes of Blake Mills opening at the Greek.
